Word and Light,
To you who defines righteous conduct, who declares the cost of restitution to the wicked, who promises consolation to the righteous, to you who despises all evil, lies, idolatry, injustice and hatred with holy indignation, and who loves goodness, love, compassion, mercy with most pure blessedness; to you, the only God, be glory forever.
Let us listen to your voice. You have come in the flesh, and you have opened your mouth. Let us not be like those who envied and despised you. Let us rejoice that you have come to manifest the glory of God and to make our enemies, sin and death, your enemies. Let us feast upon your word, the abundance of your house, and leave none untasted through the night. Let us hear and turn and be healed, finding light in his light, finding cleansing in the fountain of life.
Speak, Lord Jesus Christ. Renew us by your word.
