Lord and Lamb,
You who employed the finest craftsmen to work in pure gold your heavenly designs, that those who would approach your majesty would ascend from holiness to holiness unto you, the Most Holy and Most High God; you, the King of kings, were mocked. Once again, purple cloth adorned you, but it was mere rags. Once again, you were crowned, but with pain and suffering, the work of evil men according to twisted designs.
Forgive us, Lord, for esteeming you not, for looking upon him whom we have pierced and not seeing, for, like Pilate, knowing your innocence and washing our own hands of you. Begin a new work in us, new Adam, who came to a new tomb in a new garden. Out of our death, bring forth the light of your salvation. Let us again praise you, King of kings, Lord of lords, Lamb of God. Join us to yourself that new life and light and praise would burst forth. Our hope is in Jesus Christ, who rose again according to your grace and glory. Let us again praise you.
