Epiphany 30

Lord and God,

What you promise and what our eyes see are at war with one another. We hear a land of our own; we see it’s fearful guardians. We hear freedom; we see wilderness. We hear of your great salvation: we see sin, misery, and death.

You who were faithful to the faithless again and again, you who showered mercies from heaven daily, you who walked the earth filled pity and healing and truth; help us to be like the foreign woman who never saw, but heard and knew that you were everything she needed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. Choose us, and bring us near, let us be satisfied with your goodness. Fill us with your abundance today.
