Epiphany 35

Lord and God,

They who seek the destruction of your people will be confounded. They who call spiritual powers against your inheritance will be disappointed. God is for us; who can be against us? As Balaam was goaded to speak supernaturally against you and your salvation, and it was found he could not, so you work your sovereignty even over the occult and spiritually evil.

And he spoke not only blessing, but of a coming king, David, and through him Christ. He whom blind men saw, but the supposed kings and priests and rulers could not see, Jesus Christ, he who prophets and seers of foreign lands even knew, he has come for our salvation. He has come to give his life as a ransom for many. He fell into the hands of the nations that the promises to Israel may be kept. Let them be out to shame and confusion who sought his life. May those who love your salvation say evermore, God is great!
