Lord and God,
When the enemy plots against us, speak. When the nations rage, speak. When false prophets and deceivers lie, speak. When demons taunt, speak. There are enemies within and enemies without your people. O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! For behold, your enemies make an uproar.
Yet you who commanded death for those who tempt us to wander from you, however near and dear, are also compassionate and merciful. You speak Talitha Cumi into our sin and death. Let us stand our test of faith today; prove your righteous hand is at work in our hearts. Fill the faces of sinners with shame, that they may seek your name. Let sinful man keep silence, those within and without your people. Let the truth of your name bring your peace.
