Lent 13

Lord and God,

You who led a people through a wilderness, who put the fear of yourself into the nations that some turned to you, who dried a sea and a river that your people would cross over, guide us through the passages of life and death.

For your Son has borne our sins to the grave; innocent Jesus lay in the pit dug for the wicked. For us, he crossed over to death, and for us he crossed over to glory—for you have neither abandoned nor forsaken us. Let his justice return to us, and teach us by what he suffered of your law. Walk with us, in life and death, on the path that leads us home.
