Lord and God,
Glory to you who led your people from pursuers in Egypt, through waters, through wilderness, and through waters again to become themselves the pursuers of your adversaries, you who made great in might and holiness and small and unworthy people.
Most of all, glory to you, great Sunrise, for visiting us from on high in Jesus Christ in your tender mercy. For the way of holiness was not complete; the commander of the Lord’s army had not yet inflicted the decisive blow against the evil one. Let your people praise the rock of their salvation. The stone which upheld our feet as on dry land, to cross over the waters from the wilderness of sin into your kingdom of light.
