Lord and God,
Foundationless, Lord, were we who attempted to build your kingdom in sin. We heard your law, but did not love your law. We called you the God of Israel but remained ever at the service of idols who stoked our greed and quenched our love for you and one another.
Yet you did not lay a foundationless home in Israel. There was a solid rock, if even a stone of offense. Grant us to see the ruin of our own home and flee to his. Let us enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Shelter us, God; in your righteousness, take us in. You are good. Your steadfast love endures forever.
