Lent 30

Lord and God,

Holy and awesome is your name. You are he who foretold Samson your deliverer by an angel whose name was too wondrous to know. You are he who foretold by Jesus Christ the wonders and mysteries of the latter days. Your salvation is not to be comprehended in a word or pointed to or seen with the eyes, yet it is in our very midst.

But Jesus Christ, knows the mysteries into which angels long to peer, is revealed to us. He to whom but one of the ten lepers returned, and him only a foreigner without the light of the true Scripture, he in whom a mustard seed of faith uproots trees and moves mountains, he who tells us to lose the lives we see and find hidden life with him on high commands us, meets us in our duty to offer us his own life. For he preserved nor his own life, but secured ours by his blood. Truly you are the God who works wonders. Let us learn your name in Jesus Christ. Holy and awesome is your name.
