Lent 37

Lord and God,

Help us to believe your good news, great God and song of our salvation. Sometimes we find in our weakness and sin that your words are hard and hard to trust; even more so we find them too good to find true.

Hannah was thought a drunk. Mary Magdalene was thought a teller of tales. Men disbelieved for joy the news of your salvation. Christ Jesus has risen indeed. We are entrusted to he over whom death does not have dominion, and promised power on high to declare his name. Let us be thought fools if we are fools for you; let us be laughed at if we are mocked for you; let the redeemed of the Lord say so: Christ is risen. His steadfast love endures forever.
