Easter 9

Lord and God,

David danced a fool before all to bring the ark of your presence back home to your people. And as he said, I will become more contemptible than this, our Lord Jesus Christ was content to glorified in being brought low.

Let us not despise the glory that comes from God but is of little account to man. Let us rejoice to be in you with such glory as the Son had with you before the foundation of the world, which he gives to us, and which the world mocks and tramples. Let the world mock on, so long as we are found in you. Redeem us that we may keep your precepts. Let your face shine upon your servant, Jesus Christ, and us in him.
