Easter 20

Lord and God,

With wisdom to speak truly, you gave Solomon all things. So with Christ, in him you give us all things. We praise you for the grace you give us in the word you speak. Yet even Solomon would build a house that cannot contain you. Your own people thrust you aside, receiving your word as delivered by angels, but setting aside for the wicked will of man.

Bring your righteous rule upon us, to make us both hearers and doers. Speak Christ to us, the wisdom and mercy of God. Do good to him, and us with him, for he is righteous, and we in him. Remove our wickedness from us by the power of his blood, that peace may at last come to us for the glory of your name.
