Easter 22

Lord and God,

Unless the Lord builds the house those who build labor in vain. Lord, we marvel at your work. Gold and bronze and craftsmanship and vessels made with human hands astound, but what you have made is all glorious: a people of all nations, a place where heaven and earth meet, a church you call bride.

You have delivered us, making good with your arm what you swore with your mouth. You have ransomed us by the Son of God. You have adorned his name with your marvels and your works, healing and life from death. Teach us today to stand in awe of your mercies. Make us your children in the house you are building. Help us to set aside the bread of anxious toil and to rest content, knowing you will bring to completion what you began in us, for the glory of your name.
