Easter 39

Lord and God,

Stretch out your hand from on high to make our defense. Rescue us and deliver us from the many waters, from death and all natural consequence of sin. Save us from the hand of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies and whose right hand is a right handof falsehood.

For those not called your people, call them your own. Grant to all repentance and the works that are in keeping with it. As you turned the hearts of Paul the Pharisee, of Hezekiah your king, reorient us to your glory. Blessed are those to whom such a blessing falls: to see and confess our sin, to know he who saves from it. Blessed are those whose God is you, the only living God, and the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world.
