Lord and God,
No one with blood on their hands can stand before you. David your anointed could not touch your holy house; no one is permitted in the heavenly sanctuary until the wrath of God is poured out. And only now that Christ has poured out his blood, the satiation of your holy vengeance, do we find access to you by faith.
Blessed are those who take refuge in him. We claim his innocent blood for ourselves, which speaks to you a better word: mercy. In him we receive with thanks your mercy. Yours is the kingdom, yours is the blessing and glory and honor. We cannot contain you in earthly temples, but your grace can contain us all and make a sanctuary and refuge of your beloved Son for us all. We kiss him.
