OT 10

Lord and God,

King after king, a disappointment. Even those begin without departing from you turn. None are righteous, no not one. So how are we different than the nations you judged through us? We who stood and watched the salvation of God, triumphing not their our goodness or might, but through yours? The faithful have vanished from among the children of men—so who are we?

In your sight, we are righteous, living by faith in you, yet we are no more keepers of your law than those who know you not. Show to us the righteousness apart from the law, the righteousness which orients us toward your law, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Let us be holy by your own righteousness, bought with the blood of your son, and let us walk in him. For this is who we are in your sight. Who are we to think ourselves righteous in ourselves? But who are we to call common whom you have called holy?
