Lord and God,
Job’s was a fear that kept him running toward you. He feared you but would come even to your seat; he was terrified at your presence but would not cease appealing to you. For holiness comes to completion in the fear of God, but fear of repentance not of worldly despair.
Let us find you in Jerusalem, your heavenly city. Let us know you, our holy refuge. In you, we would fear none other. And in you there is a shelter from the storm. You are God our God forever. Guide us forever.
