OT 50

Lord and God,

As Job and Paul were forced to foolish boasting before man, let us hold fast our integrity before you. Truly it is not our righteous works that justify us, but you. Let us count ourselves blessed therefore to be awaiting your vindication. When we are numbered among the needy we used to serve, we are not cursed. Rather we are waiting for you to act—truly there is no injustice with you.

You will break down the wicked forever—teach us to wait for it. Teach us to trust forever and ever in your steadfast love, for you are constant toward us in life and in death. Whatever therefore we suffer in this life, let us hold fast to you. Whatever befalls us in this world, even death, in Christ is repaid in blessings eternal. We wait. We wait for you.
