OT 54

Lord and God,

You who commands the morning light and prohibits the tide, you who hears your creatures in their cries for help, you whose word we praise, have mercy. Forgive us for our haughtiness to think we would surpass you in ordering your creation, that we would improve upon perfection, that we would be a better god than you. We need your grace.

And in what abundance do you respond to our cry like that of the ravens? You have delivered us from felling, kept our feet from stumbling. To you let vows be performed. For though we cannot justify ourselves by your law, yet you make us to stand before you in Christ Jesus. Your ways are too high and just for us to imitate you, yet Christ has imitated for us. Let it be no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us, for your glory.
